Workers Compensation
Workers Compensation law is a no fault system designed to compensate individuals
who are disabled as a result of an injury or occupational
illness arising out of and in the course of employment. In
addition it provides for benefits for specific losses such
as amputation of a finger or limb.
A worker must be off 8 days in a row before he/she can collect
any wage loss benefits. On the eighth day benefits become
payable. If the worker is off for at least 15 consecutive
days benefits become payable for the first seven days .
In addition to wage loss benefits injured workers are entitled
to medical care for their injury as well as vocational rehabilitation.
We represent a variety of union and nonunion workers ranging
from day laborers , millwrights, heavy equipment operators
to professionals such as lawyers, teachers, doctors, accountants
and human resource persons.
All work is on a contingent basis with attorney fees being
set by State statute.
Our firms extensive law practice allows us to work closely
with our other partners in related construction and auto accidents,
discrimination claims and other third party cases.
