Barry Waldman joined the firm in 1967 as a law clerk for Theodore Sachs and became a shareholder in 1973. He has served as the firm's president and is currently of counsel to the firm.

Mr. Waldman started as a labor lawyer working with Theodore Sachs and then obtained various verdicts in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties which, then, led to a career of over 34 years in the field of personal injury litigation.

Mr. Waldman became active in the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association in 1976 and has held all positions in the organization including serving as its President.

In addition to practicing in the special area of personal injury litigation, Mr. Waldman has taught various courses as an adjunct law school professor and lecturer at Wayne State University Law School, University of Michigan Law School, University of Detroit Mercy and Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

Mr. Waldman is a past member of the Negligence Council of the State Bar of Michigan, and has written for the Michigan Bar Journal where he has published on various topics including Tort Reform.

In the last five years, a good part of Mr. Waldman's time has been dedicated to practicing various forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Mr. Waldman has served as member of the Board of Wayne County Mediation Tribunal Association and also as its President. Mr. Waldman has been chosen by various plaintiff and defense firms as both a plaintiff's representative, a neutral representative and an individual facilitator with regard to complex civil suits.

Mr. Waldman has also been voted as one of Michigan's Most Influential Lawyers by Michigan Lawyers Weekly, and has testified to numerous State, House and Senate hearings with regard to Tort issues.

Mr. Waldman is admitted to practice in various Federal Courts of Appeals and the District Courts of Eastern and Western Michigan.

Mr. Waldman remains active in various community organizations. He serves on the Board of the Cass Community Services which provides care to homeless and HIV victims in the Detroit Metropolitan area.

Mr. Waldman is a graduate of Michigan State University (B.A. 1962, Economics (High Distinction)) and Wayne State University Law School (J.D., 1969, Cum Laude). In law school, Mr. Waldman was a recipient of various scholarships and awards and was an Associate Editor of the Wayne State University Law Review.
